SLO PD Working To Make Their Parks Safer For Children

Posted: Updated:

San Luis Obispo-The San Luis Obispo Police Department is working to make their parks safer for children.

Some parents we spoke to in the area say with more homeless around, and with objects like glass spotted at the parks, they've  become hesitant to take their kids to play.

But now, park maintenance officers and police officers are teaming up to take a lot of those worries off people's minds.

Lt. Keith Storton says, "We do have a lot of issues, sometimes transient issues within the parks, sometimes people congregating and fights occurring or criminal activity."

And to make sure the community is safe, police plan to make their presence known, to reduce suspicious activity.
