Rojelio Aviles
PASO ROBLES, Calif- The Salazar family as well as the new person of interest, have a pretty long criminal history. The only person we couldn't find anything for was the suspect himself, Juan Manuel Salazar Jr. Paso Robles Police say 19-year-old Juan Manuel Salazar Jr. does live in Paso Robles. He does not have a criminal record in San Luis Obispo or Monterey Counties. His father 39-year-old Juan Manuel Salazar Sr., lives in Paso Robles as well, and has been busy over the past years.
He doesn't have a record in San Luis Obispo County but Monterey county knows him well. Since 2004, Salazar has a laundry list of misdemeanors and felonies including possession, sale, and transportation of drugs. Salazar Sr., is no longer a person of interest and is not in custody. Investigators are still looking at possible charges.
Sheriff's have a new person of interest in the disappearance of 16-year-old Eunice Serrato. 22-year-old, Rojelio Aviles, who is believed to be traveling with Salazar Jr. He doesn't have a criminal record in SLO county but since 2009 has been slapped with two misdemeanors for disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. As well as a felony drug possession charge in Monterey County.
Paso Robles detectives are assisting in this investigation. "Monterey County has reached out to us and asked for information that might be helpful to their investigation and our investigators are definitely in a position to help where they can," says Lt. Ty Lewis from the Paso Robles Police Department.
There is one more piece to this puzzle. Last week, a man was shot during an attempted robbery at his home in San Ardo. Monday, sheriff's confirmed the suspect arrested for that shooting, Alfonso Salazar, is Juan Manuel Salazar Jr's uncle.
