Paso Robles Man Arrested For Making Bomb Threats Against Walmart

PASO ROBLES, Calif- 21-hours after a bomb threat was made against the Arroyo Grande Walmart, police have the suspect in custody.

According to police, 53-year-old Daniel McPherson heard the news about multiple bomb threats targeting Walmart stores across the nation and decide to try it out himself.  Monday night police say he called the Arroyo Grande Walmart and said there was a bomb in the store and then immediately hung up the phone.

The store was evacuated but officers did not find any bomb.

Detectives worked with AT&T to track down who made the call to the store. McPherson was arrested Tuesday at his home in Paso Robles.

"It is important for people to know that we take threats like this very seriously and we will aggressively pursue any suspects,"  said police chief Steven N. Annibali.
