Watch Out Santa Barbara Toyota Owners, Rash of Thefts in the Area

SANTA BARBARA, Calif- A recent rash of thefts involving Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks has police believing that someone is using a master key to steal the trucks.

The Santa Barbara Police Department is telling owners to watch out and take extra precautions to secure your truck. In addition to stealing trucks, the thieves are switching license plates with stolen ones.

If you are buying a used Toyota Tacoma, police say to be suspicious if it is being sold at well below market value by a seller only will only take cash. You may be buying a stolen car.

If you see any suspicious activity call 911.
