Arrest Made in San Ardo Amber Alert Case

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif - The Monterey County Sheriff's Department arrested a woman Friday for her alleged role in a kidnapping and double murder in San Ardo.

Deputies, in collaboration with the Paso Robles Police Department,  took Maria Aviles Rodriguez, 36,  into custody on charges of kidnapping, aiding and abetting, child abuse, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and the destruction of evidence. Search warrants were also served on her home in Paso Robles and her vehicle. Aviles-Rodriguez was booked into Monterey County Jail and other charges are pending.

The charges stem from the July 28th double murder of Hector Reyes and Daniel Fraga, and the kidnapping of 16-year-old Eunice Serrato.

The Monterey County Sheriff's Department is still, with the assistance of the FBI and Interpol.. along with other state, local and federal agencies working to find Serrato and her boyfriend Juan Manuel Salazar Jr.
