SANTA MARIA -- An early morning traffic stop turned into a vehicle pursuit through Orcutt ending in Santa Maria.
Santa Maria Police officers attempted to stop 18 year-old Paul Anthony McCormack for a traffic violation.
He failed to stop and led police on a 22 mile chase from southwest Santa Maria through Orcutt before getting onto Northbound highway 101 .
McCormack took the Donovan Rd. exit and continued through Santa Maria before stopping his vehicle and attempting to flee on foot. A K-9 from the Santa Maria Police Department took him down.
Police booked McCormack into the Santa Barbara County Jail for felony evading and being an unlicensed driver.
