SANTA MARIA -- One man is behind bars after concerned residents noticed a man with a handgun.
Santa Maria Police received the call late last night of an adult male armed with a handgun in the 300 block of N. Miller Street.
Eyewitnesses were able to provide a physical description of the man as well as a description of his car.
Officers arrived and saw the suspect's vehicle at the intersection of Mill and Miller Streets and detained the suspect.
Michael Russ, 35 year-old resident of Santa Maria, was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm.
Russ was booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail for being in possession of a loaded firearm and providing false information to avoid prosecution.
