SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif- The woman accused of threatening two young girls in a Paso Robles home in April of this year was in court for her arraignment Monday. Eliana Ramirez was facing 7 criminal counts and a trial.
Family members of the victims and the 10 & 11 year old children, told police that Ramirez went up to their room, broke a lamp, and threatened the girls with sexually explicit comments at a group gathering. Ramirez originally had 5 felony counts against her as well as 2 misdemeanor charges of child molestation but today she plead no contest to just 2 felony counts: Assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment, the rest were dismissed.
Both victims mothers held hands with tears in their eyes after the Ramirez plea, saying that they felt they were back to square one. "The girls their minds were raped, innocence was taking from them, and that lasts a life time, and I don't feel she's paying for what she did to my daughter." Prosecutor Gregory Devitt asked for 180 days in county jail, and at least 3 years of probation.
Ramirez will be back in court for her sentencing in October, where she is expected to be taking into custody. She is not required to register as a sex offender at this time.
