Body Found At Construction Site Identified

PASO ROBLES, Calif.- San Luis Obispo County Sheriff-Coroner deputies have identified the man found at a Paso Robles construction site as 65-year-old James Seim and say he was a construction supervisor at the location.

The California Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Cal-OSHA, tells Central Coast News Seim was working on a project building a new America's Tire on the 2400 block of Golden Hill Road in Paso Robles. On Wednesday morning at about 5:45 construction workers coming the site found Seim dead.

"Officers arrived and did discover a deceased person there, it appears it is related to the construction site," says Lieutenant Tim Murphy, Paso Robles Police Department.

Cal-OSHA was called out to investigate. @

"The deceased was on the roof of that building and apparently fell through a skylight approximately 30 to 40 feet high. It appears he fell sometime Tuesday evening and was found by other workers arriving to work Wednesday morning," says Patricia Ortiz, Cal-OSHA spokesperson.

As of Thursday evening, it is unclear if anyone was around when Seim fell.

"The death does not appear to be suspicious in nature, however the cause of death is unknown and won't be known until an autopsy is conducted and that autopsy is scheduled for next week," says Murphy.

Central Coast News reached out to the general contractor Seim was working for and the manager says he hasn't heard about a job site death in about 25 years.
