Sheriff's Department: Wanted Parolee Tries to Run Over Deputies at San Luis Obispo Albertsons

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif- Several  San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Deputies had a close call with a wanted parolee Wednesday night.

The Special Operations Unit and Narcotics Task Force spotted the wanted parolee, 28 year old Adam Dykes around 7:30 p.m. at the Albertsons store on Foothill Boulevard.

When deputies arrived to take Dykes into custody, he managed to put his car into reverse and attempted to run over several deputies.

Deputies got Dykes to stop the vehicle and then took him into custody. 

Dykes is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, as well as evading arrest and parole violations.
