Telescope Stolen From Blind Buddhist Priest in Grover Beach

Posted: Updated:

GROVER BEACH, Calif. - A telescope has been stolen from a blind Buddhist priest's home in the Grand Avenue Mobile Home Community in Grover Beach.

Priest Randall Massey says many come to look at the craters of the moon in his backyard, but sometime between midnight and 4 a.m. on Tuesday, the telescope and a tripod were stolen just 10 feet from his bedroom.

Massey says only the telescope and a wooden tripod were stolen.  He didn't want to file a formal report, but he says Grover Beach Police will know if someone tries to pawn them.

Anyone with more information can call Grover Beach Police at 805-473-4507.  They can also call Priest Massey at 805-489-8972.
