SLO Man Saves Man From Fiery Crash

Posted: Updated:

Around 4:30 A.M. Saturday morning, Michael Sumrall crashed his motorcycle when he hit a deer on Ontario Road in San Luis Obispo.

Not only did Sumrall become pinned under the motorcycle, but it caught fire!

A bystander, Steven Gray, rushed over and lifted the bike off of Sumrall. He then dragged the victim to the side of the road to wait for medical assistance.

Sumrall did suffer serious burns to his lower body, palms, and eyebrows. But the San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Office says that Gray's quick action most likely saved the man's life.
