AVILA BEACH, Calif. - A golf cart shed goes up in flames at Avila Beach Golf Resort and causes hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.
An employee went to one of the cart sheds and found a golf cart engulfed in flames.
To make matters worse, the cart was near an air compressor.
"He went to get a fire extinguisher to put out the flames, realized that wasn't a good idea with an air compressor nearby, took a couple steps back and the whole barn blew up!" said Avila Beach Golf Resort General Manager Joel Lander.
The explosion and flames spread to nearby vegetation along Blue Heron Road.
The fire started at around 5:45pm and firefighters were able to contain it by about 6:30pm.
The damage is estimated at $400,000.
