Santa Maria Family Plants Tree Dedicated To Victim

Posted: Updated:

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Six months later, the memory of Antoinette Raygoza's death stays fresh in the minds of her friends and family.

They held a celebration at Preisker Park after planting a tree in her memory.

The tree was donated by the City of Santa Maria.

"With this tree, we can come and reminisce of all the good things she has done in our lives," said Raygoza's aunt, Susana Garcia.

Raygoza worked as an employee for the City of Santa Maria for more than a year as a recreational leader assisting with special events and facility maintenance.

They say she was very popular in the community and was working hard at her city job to get ahead in life.

The 20 year old was killed after being run over during a confrontation with her boyfriend Jack Misiaszek in February.
