LOMPOC, Calif. - Lompoc City Council has rejected a plan to fund repairs for the Historic Lompoc Theater.
Many people have been fighting to get the funding for the historic theater, which opened it's doors in 1927. Although the building needs major repairs, many still call it the heart of the town.
This decision comes on the heels of last week's decision by the project's oversight board, who voted 4-3 against funding the renovation through it's $4 million redevelopment fund. So far, nothing is known about what the city plans to do with the theater.
