RNC Announces Mitt Romney as Presidential Nominee

TAMPA, Fla. - The Republican National Convention has announced Mitt Romney as their pick for the November 2012 presidential ballot.

The announcement came after roll call Tuesday night, a day after the announcement was expected.

The RNC pushed back the announcement due to Hurricane Isaac.

Mitt Romney is expected to accept the nomination Thursday, August 30.

He will run with vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan against Democrat President Obama.

The Democratic National Convention is scheduled to meet the first week of September in Charlotte, North Carolina.
