GOLETA, Calif. -- Firefighters say the cause of the fire at Refugio Road near Goleta yesterday was the result of an electrical arc, started by a bird.
They say the fire started when a bird caused the electrical power to arc and go to the ground, setting the nearby brush on fire.
The ten acre brush fire broke out around 4:45pm yesterday. It was put out pretty quickly within two hours. The fire did not cause any structural damage and there were no reports of any injuries.
