SANTA MARIA, Calif.- Jack Misiaszek, the man accused of running over and killing his girlfriend, now has a new girlfriend and she says people are portraying the man she loves all wrong.
"I think it's really unfair the way they are treating him and their making him seem to be something he's not, he's a really good person at heart. Just because he's moved on, doesn't mean he's forgot," says Aurora Garcia, Misiaszek's new girlfriend.
Garcia says she's known Misiaszek for about three years now, before him and Antoinette Raygoza were dating, but says they were just friends.
"I don't believe their relationship was all fine like they think, so I mean they can be mad all they want, it's not going to change anything and it's not going to bring her back," says Garcia.
Garcia says ever since Misiaszek posted bail back in March they've been dating.
"I was there for him, I went with him to court, I supported him, I believe in him, I believe it was an accident," says Garcia.
"This is a choice her and Bert made to be committed together and I stand by her 100 percent," says Gloria Guzman, Garcia's cousin.
Garcia also says she plans to be at Misiaszek's next court appearance on September 5th.
