SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Sierra Vista Medical Center staff want the public to know that they are experiencing troubles with their phone lines and calls from the outside may not be getting through.
S.V.M.C. Officials say the problem has had no adverse affect on patient care but have not been able to receive incoming phone calls since around 4 p.m., Thursday.
All nearby area hospitals have been notified and some staff members are handing out their cell phone numbers when necessary.
Sierra Vista says some phone calls are sporadically getting through to the hospital and the public is urged to keep trying if they receive a rapid busy signal.
At this time, the hospital is working with Verizon to fix the problem but staff are unsure when the problem will be resolved.
