
AVOID the 12 and California Highway Patrol conducted a sobriety checkpoint during the night last night in Santa Barbara, and arrest 9 people for DUI.
The checkpoint ran from 8:00 PM last night to 3:00 AM this morning.
862 vehicles in all were screened. Four people were caught driving without a license, and three were driving with a suspended license.
A 16 year old male was also arrested for having drugs.
More DUI checkpoints will be conducted over Labor Day weekend in the cities of Goleta, Guadalupe, Lompoc, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria and the UCSB campus.
‘AVOID the 12' is named for the 12 Law Enforcement agencies within Santa Barbara County that work together to combat DUI driving.
