7-8 Car Pile Up in San Luis Obispo on Highway 101

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - California Highway Patrol officers say there was a major car pile up on Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo earlier tonight that backed traffic up for hours.

Up to eight cars were involved in the pile up, which was located on the Northbound side of the 101 Freeway, just past Monterey Street. Officers first heard about the accident around 5:15pm.

The accident caused a major traffic delay for almost two hours. No word yet on what caused the major crash or if there are any injuries.
