Santa Maria Considers New Bevmo

Posted: Updated:

Santa Maria -- The Santa Maria City Council will consider a plan for a new store. Bev-mo wants to open a new location next to Trader Joe's in the shopping center on Stowell and Bradley.

The California based company sells beer, wine and liquor at its 120 stores.

There are already three Bev-mo stores on the Central Coast one in Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara.

Council Member <mosID>avid.mos.kcoy.mos</mosIJack Boysen says, "I think anytime you get a company like Bev-mo it's going to increase jobs certainly it's going to provide sales tax revenue to the City of Santa Maria which in these economic times is very important."

Tonight the council will consider approving Bev-mo's alcoholic beverage sales licenses.
