The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works announces that Price Canyon Road will be closed at night from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM on Monday, September 17, 2012 through Friday, September 21, 2012. The road will be closed from Highway 227 to Corral De Piedra Road.
Those needing travel through that area are requested to plan their trip to avoid the closure by using route 101 or 227 as alternative access routes.
Construction signs and Changeable Message Signs will be placed to advise road users.

Price Canyon Road has been identified as a priority project for widening over the past ten years by the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments.
The Bicycle Advisory Committee has listed this project as a top priority over the past 10-15 years, and Price Canyon Road has been identified by Caltrans as a key alternative route for South County traffic.
This project will improve driver and bicyclist safety by providing full bike lanes within the project area.
The project is funded by grants from Highway Bridge Program and Federal Demonstration funding, both provided by the Federal Highway Administration, and administered by Caltrans. Additional (matching) funds are provided by local County funds.
