SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Charges are now filed against the man accused of murdering a UC Santa Barbara student over the weekend.
24-year-old Derek Pinski was arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend, 24-year-old Alexandra Tang. Prosecutors say Pinski met Tang at UC Santa Barbara, where they both attended college.
Investigators say Pinski stabbed Tang multiple times in his Laguna Hills home on Saturday. He then took off to Arizona, where he was later arrested. If convicted, Pinski faces 26 years to life in prison.
