PASO ROBLES, Calif. - A Paso Robles woman has received a gift that is out of this world - a trip to space! She won the ticket by attending the "Big Bang Theory" Comic-Con booth in San Diego this summer.
The winner - Mercedes Becerra - won a ticket for a trip to space, valued at $95,000. When she went to Comic-Con, she never expected to win anything...she was just happy to meet the cast of one of her favorite shows.
Becerra is set to take her trip within the next 18 to 24 months. She will also be fitted for a special space suit and undergo four days of safety training. Since returning to Paso, she says she's gotten a lot of positive support, but also a lot of disbelief.
