ATASCADERO, Calif. -- A home in Atascadero goes up in flames causing $75,000 in damage and injuring one firefighter.
When fire fighters arrived at this home on the corner of Nogales and Rosita Avenues flames were coming out of the roof.
The fire jumped to some nearby trees and even onto the homeowners truck!
"The house got dark, then all of a sudden a large explosion sound, came out, saw the flames higher than the trees," says neighbor Lex Potter
The home was severely damaged but fortunately no one was inside.
One firefighter was injured after twisting his ankle.
In the course of the fire, electrical lines fell to the ground near gas lines.
The gas company dug up the street in order to prevent a leak.
Firefighters say the fire was started by a faulty battery charger hooked up in the garage.
