Early Morning Fire At Arroyo Grande House

ARROYO GRANDE -- Five Cities fire and CalFire responded to a fire that broke out early this morning in Arroyo Grande.

It started about 2:30 this morning on Chilton Drive just off Oak Park.

Firefighters confined the fire to a downstairs bedroom in only 10 to 15 minutes before completely putting it out.

The home owner says a malfunctioning electric blanket caused the fire.

Neighbors helped put the fire out with garden hoses until fire-fighters arrived.

Investigators are now assessing the damage.
