GOLETA, Calif.- Tomorrow's Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisor's meeting could result in a change in how playground speed zones are implemented in the area.
The county's public works department is behind the proposed action.
It concerns Merida Drive in the Goleta area, which parallels the San Jose Creek Open Space.
The Open Space isn't considered a playground zone, but the Public Works Department wants to change that and lower the speed limit to 25 miles per hour.
Many children and families go to the area because it has play structures and turf play areas.
