Current Job: Grant Writer
Top 3 Priorities if Elected:
- Guaranteeing the right to vote of the construction of a desalination plant. I will be supporting Measure P on the November ballot by canvassing the city with my own flyer in support as well as material generated by the Right to Vote on Desal Coalition.
- Economic recovery and the creation of affordable housing. I believe that the retail power of the university has not been developed and that revenue can provide the increase in general fund money to provide all city services and begin true economic recovery for our downtown. I also will be presenting a Blue/Green Jobs Initiative that will create a local Conservation Corps using funds currently being held by the City Water Department in anticipation of the construction of a desal plant. The initiative will create job opportunities for local residents to participate in watershed restoration among other conservation measures. My affordable housing plan is detailed and action oriented.
- My third priority is the maintenance and expansion of our city parks and open spaces. This is a quality of life issue that can be addressed by the development and implementation of a Parks and Recreation Master Plan which does not currently exist.
