UC Santa Barbara 'Robo Rats' Race

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - U. C. Santa Barbara students took part in their annual "Robo Rat" competition. The "robo rats" are actually part of a final project for engineering students.

Eighteen engineering students enroll in the class to learn how to make these robots. They then form teams for the competition and see whose rat can collect the most cheese...but in this case, they are actually foam blocks. The robots are made from Legos, DC motors, micro controllers, and sensors.
