SANTA MARIA -- Officers were sent to a home in the 900 Block of W. Jewel Street Thursday evening to a call of an attempted child molestation in progress.
Emanuel Esquivias, an 18 year old from Santa Maria, walked into the home of his neighbors just before 9:30. He then made his way into a bedroom occupied by two pre-teen females and closed the door behind him.
He demanded the underage girls perform sexual acts on him and was in the process of undressing when the children began to scream for help and threw household items at him.
The homeowner and father of one of the girls came to assist and forced Esquivias outside the house where Santa Maria Police arrested him.
After talking with Esquivias, police also determined that Esquivias intended on raping the children if they did not do what he said.
Esquivias was arrested and booked into jail on $250,000 bail.
