Search For Missing Los Osos Woman Suspended

Posted: Updated:

SAN SIMEON, Calif. -- After four days of searching for an at-risk 59-year-old woman from Los Osos, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's officials have suspended the search.

Suzanne Smith's car was last seen near San Simeon.

Smith is described as a 5'7, 200 lb, white female with brown hair and brown eyes.

Crews started searching for her late last night into the afternoon.

Search and rescue teams combed through the coast 13 miles north of Cambria

San Luis Obispo California Highway Patrol says they found her red 1995 Chevy pickup truck a quarter mile north of Piedras Blancas Lighthouse where her truck ran into a fence.

There are still fresh skid marks on the ground near the newly repaired section of the fence but Smith is no where to be found.

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff Officials wouldn't say why they have suspended the search but that the investigation is ongoing.

If you have information on the whereabouts of Suzanne Smith, call the Sheriff's Department or Crime Stoppers.
