Santa Maria Police Searching for Stabbing Suspect

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Santa Maria Police are looking for a suspect who stabbed a man early Monday morning near the intersection of Lincoln St. and Agnes.

According to Police, on 9-17-12 at approximately 0611 hours, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Lincoln St and Agnes St in response to a victim of a stabbing. 

The investigation revealed the following, Ramiro Barcena Orozco, 23, of Santa Maria called SMPD dispatch at approximately 0611 hours to advise that he was the victim of a stabbing.  Officers arrived to find Orozco lying on the sidewalk at the intersection of Lincoln St and Agnes St with one stab wound to his back.  Orozco would not provide any suspect information and there were no independent witnesses to the stabbing.

Orozco was transported to Marian Hospital by ambulance and is listed in stable condition. Anyone with further information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Santa Maria Police Department at 805-928-3781.
