MARIN COUNTY, Calif. - More than 50,000 volunteers lent a helping hand on Saturday during the 28th Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day.
Volunteers picked up more than 600,000 pounds of trash and debris at more than 850 locations including here on the Central Coast.
A volunteer in Marin County found a weather-worn sheet of paper that turned out to be a love letter.
There are also reports that volunteers may have found 3 pieces of debris that washed into the ocean during the tsunami in Japan in March 2011.
