Seismic Testing Effect on Whales

Posted: Updated:

DIABLO CANYON, Calif. - Biologists say the number of whales that have been spotted on the Central Coast could pose another hurdle for PG&E's seismic studies.

Activists are concerned that their sonar hearing may be damaged. That can cause disorientation and, possibly, death.

PG&E officials say they are closely monitoring the area to make sure no marine life is harmed.
