SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A suspect led police on a chase through Santa Barbara County Monday night.
Police say the pursuit started around 9:30pm on Hollister Avenue near Los Carneros. The suspect led police on the 101 Freeway northbound through the El Capitan Ranch and Gaviota areas
At one point, police say the suspect almost side swiped an off-duty deputy. The pursuit finally ended at the Mariposa Reina off ramp. The suspect pulled over and was taken into custody by CHP.
So far, very little information about the suspect is known at this time. CHP officers tell us that the suspect may have had previous contact with law enforcement.
