ARROYO GRANDE, Calif.- For the second time in less than a week, a controversial Facebook page targeting women on the Central Coast has been taken down. One of the victims of the page called "805 Hoes on Blast (Central Coast)" tells Central Coast News the creator of the page is in custody.
Central Coast News spoke to one of the victims, with her mother's permission, who is only 15-year-old. She says she doesn't know what she did to have her picture blasted on the website.
"What did I do to deserve this, what did those do to deserve this," says cyberbulling victim, Cheyenne Burden.
For the past week, Cheyenne Burden has been a victim of cyberbullying after a picture of her was posted on the Facebook page, "805 Hoes on Blast (Central Coast)." As of Tuesday evening, the page has been deleted, but Burden says the harassment continues.
"There's older men trying to be my friend, I've had messages from guys I've never seen in my life. They were saying you have good looks, I like how you look, knowing I was just 15," says Burden.
Burden's mother, Jennifer says she now fears for her daughter's life.
"It's actually gotten to where I'm afraid to have her go anywhere because I don't know if anyone is going to recognize her," says Jennifer Burden, the victim's mother.
Jennifer Burden says she still can't comprehend why anyone would do something like this.
"I don't understand why it's allowed, I understand Facebook and whoever are trying to protect these people by the freedom of speech, but what I want to know is my daughter now has older men possibly pedophiles trying to contact her, are they going to be protected by the freedom of speech because they are writing her," says Jennifer Burden.
One local man is now taking action to help end cyberbullying by creating a Facebook page called "Come Help Stop 805 Hoes on Blast and All Other Pages." He says he too was once a victim of bullying.
"I have had a lot of people call me names, I was a person at school that wasn't a popular person at school. Sometimes I would feel like I don't deserve to be here," says Romeo Humberto Martinez, the creator of an anti-bullying website.
Martinez's page has already received more than 100 'likes' in less than 24 hours.
Central Coast News reached out to Arroyo Grande Police Department and as of Tuesday evening, they can't confirm or deny if the person responsible for creating the page is in custody, but according to victims they are sure he is.
