SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Snowboarding legend and pioneer Tom Sims died from cardiac arrest last Wednesday at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
The 61 year old built the first "skateboard for the snow" back in 1963 and founded the Sims Brand in 1976. Sims revolutionized snowboarding for nearly five decades. Over the years, he was a driving force for the brand.
Sims was also the primary snowboarding stunt double for Sir Roger Moore in the 1985 James Bond film "A View To Kill."
