Santa Maria -- It's that time again, Time to get your flu
shot Before the flu season starts.
The Centers for Disease Control suggests getting your shot now so you have time
for the vaccine to take affect before people start passing the virus around.
The flu season can start as early as October and last several months. It
typically peaks in January or February.
The C-D-C recommends the shot for everyone 6-months and
older, especially those in high risk groups like pregnant women, those who work
in healthcare or with children, people who are at risk for complications from
the flu like pneumonia, and anyone 65 or older.
There are a series of Central Coast flu shot clinics for
seniors over the next few weeks where you can get a shot and it will be billed
to your health insurance or to Medicare. The senior connection compiled this
