SELECTING A PERMANENT CEO WITH A FAIR AND BALANCED PROCESS

I will focus on the permanent CEO selection, as this is the single most critical issue that needs to be addressed.  We not only need to make sure that we find the best candidate for the job that is the best fit for this hospital and this community, we need to ensure that the process is open and fair and includes participation from the public.

WORK TO MAKE SURE THAT SALINAS VALLEY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL REMAINS AVAILABLE AND ACCESSIBLE TO ALL THE RESIDENTS OF THE DISTRICT 

I will use my many years of public service being a bridge to the many local diverse communities in addition to my financial, business and budgeting background to make sure that the hospital successfully makes the transition to the new health care era that is upon us. It is imperative that I be a powerful advocate for District 3 and the hospital has the resources to continue to provide the excellent level of patient care that this community deserves. 

ENSURE THE HOSPITAL HAS THE RESOURCES IT NEEDS TO CONTINUE PROVIDING THE LEVEL OF EXCELLENT SERVICE THIS COMMUNITY DESERVES

Because my wife is a nurse, I understand the importance of this hospital to the entire community.  I will work diligently to promote and ensure that the hospital is accessible and affordable to our community.
