SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Space Shuttle Endeavour's final flight drew onlookers from all across the Central Coast. Viewers from Lompoc to Vandenberg Village to Santa Maria snapped away as the shuttle flew close to Vandenberg Air Force Base and they sent in their pictures to Central Coast News.
The shuttle flew over the base at around 11am this morning. It flew 25 missions and logged 123 million miles in flight during more than 4,500 orbits.
It first landed in California at Edwards Air Force Base on Thursday. It then took off on a statewide tour this morning, making stops in Palmdale, San Francisco, and Sacramento. The shuttle piggybacked on a Boeing 747 before touching down at LAX this morning.
