GUADALUPE, Calif. - The Far Western Tavern is leaving Guadalupe after decades of calling the town home and is now moving to Orcutt.
Guadalupe city leaders say the move is a huge loss for the local economy. The restaurant has received worldwide attention for being a landmark, which they say helped bring a lot of business to the area.
"It is really losing a landmark and it brought a lot of people from other areas to here." said Larry Parsons, who lives in Santa Barbara. "I mean, it just came out of nowhere for me, and it was just like going back into the day of yesteryear."
The restaurant's last day of operation at the Guadalupe location is October 7th. The new location in Orcutt opens on October 29th.
