Plastic Bag Ban Coming Soon

Posted: Updated:

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.- Come Monday it will cost you to shop with plastic in San Luis Obispo County.

Beginning October 1st, stores including supermarkets, pharmacies and convenience stores will not provide plastic shopping bags to customers. Instead paper bags will be offered, which will cost at least 10 cents each.

The San Luis Obispo County Integrated Waste Management Authority Board approved the ordinance on single use bags back in January.
