Posted: Updated:

SANTA MARIA - Santa Maria Police say they have arrested four teenagers between 13 and 16 years old on several burglary charges.

In a press release, SMPD says at about 10:52 Wednesday morning officers responded to the 600 block of West Orange street concerning a residential burglary that had just occurred.

Police say when officers arrived in the area they chased a lone suspect who managed to get away.

Police say additional information led officers to another residence in the 500 block of South Smith street where they believe the suspect might have ran to.

Police say when they arrived at the home, the four teen juveniles all tried to flee but were caught and arrested.

Police say further investigation revealed the four juveniles were responsible for the initial burglary and three additional residential burglaries.

The four suspects were later booked into the Santa Maria Juvenile Hall.

Police say several stolen items have been recovered and add the case remains open.
