SANTA BARBARA, Calif - Santa Barbara Police say they've arrested a gang member known as "dagger man".
SBPD says at 10:45pm on Thursday September 27, Officer Tom Eccles was patrolling in the 300 block of North Milpas St. when he observed a subject committing a jaywalking violation.
The subject, wearing dark colored knit gloves, a black shirt and dark colored pants was detained for the vehicle code violation and identified as Christian Ariel Hernandez, 19 years old of Goleta.
Hernandez, an Eastside gang associate, was asked if he had any weapons on his person and he indicated that he did. Hernandez was found to be in possession of a dagger in his pants pocket.
When arrested for the violation, Hernandez was also found to be in possession of two bags of marijuana and a scale. Hernandez was arrested for possession of marijuana for sale and possession of a concealed dagger.
Hernandez is the same subject arrested on 8-27-12 near the Santa Barbara High School for possession of marijuana for sale, cocaine, and armed with a knife. In that case he was also in possession of a scale. Hernandez had been out of custody on his own recognizance pending a court hearing.
Hernandez was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for possession of marijuana for sale and possession of a concealed dagger.
