Top 3 Priorities if Elected:
ALL STAKEHOLDERS HAVE A VOICE IN DECISIONS
Work to create lines of communication to the various groups listed above through visiting schools, talking to teachers and students, attending PTAs or Home and School Clubs, making outreach to business groups and community organizations when possible, working with Superintendent and administrative staff.
VISIT CLASSROOMS TO TALK TO TEACHERS AND STUDENTS ABOUT THEIR IDEAS FOR IMPROVEMENT/CHANGES TO SCHOOLS
I will set up a schedule by which, over the next year, I visit most/all of the schools and make appointments to visit classrooms and speak with teachers and students regarding their experiences and ideas for future changes in the schools.
BECOME KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE WORKING CONDITIONS OF TEACHERS AND STAFF
Work to alleviate any unfortunate side effects of those changes. My basic priority is to make sure that the way our school staff are treated is in line with our community's values. Meet with representatives of teachers and staff to learn of positives and problems in doing their jobs as well as conduct interviews with staff members themselves.
