SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- Walmart's new neighborhood market store is expected to bring 70 jobs to the Santa Maria area.
The new store is set to open at the Crossroads Shopping Center, right next door to the existing Walmart.
The 32,000 square foot store is estimated to bring in tax revenue to the local area as well as draw in more shoppers to the Crossroads Shopping Center.
With this new addition the shopping center will have filled all its vacant lots which city officials say is a good sign for the economy.
The average wage for a full-time associate is about $12.82 an hour.
As part of the grand opening tomorrow, Walmart is giving five local charities a total of $8,000 in grant money.
