ATASCADERO, Calif. - Officials from the "Sunset SAVOR the Central Coast" event donated a garden to Creston Elementary School in Atascadero on Tuesday.

The garden, which includes 16 raised vegetable beds, will be used to help kick start the school's new outdoor classroom program.  The school also plans on hiring a garden teacher to work with small groups of children on garden lessons.  Creston also will install an automatic irrigation system to make sure it's properly watered.

Central Coast News was one of the sponsors for the "Sunset SAVOR the Central Coast" event this year, held this weekend at the historic grounds of Santa Margarita Ranch, where people got to enjoy food and wine.
