Top 3 Priorities if Elected:

KEEP OUR CITY IN STRONG FINANCIAL SHAPE

We have already made great improvements to the fiscal health of our city.  We have an additional $1 million surplus above what we budgeted due to record revenue along with significant cost cutting. Our employees have made concessions at the bargaining table and we have streamlined our city organization.  Our combined bed tax and sales tax revenues are at record levels. We are on the right path and we need to continue our current direction.

CONTINUE TO IMPROVE OUR ROADS, PARKS, BLUFF PROTECTION, AND DOWNTOWN

With our solid revenue stream, we are able to fix up the city with a program to resurface all of our residential streets over a six year period.  We have made significant improvements in our bluff protection program and we also need to continue that effort. We have completed the Dinosaur Caves Park improvements and we need to begin work on the Price Historic Park by completing the master plan and begin working on the park improvements.

PUBLIC SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDING MAKING OUR CITY MORE FIRE SAFE

Our police department will be getting new high tech equipment to make their job more effective and efficient which will make our city safer. I serve on the SLO Fire Safe Council, and I have been leading the effort to improve the fire safety of our community to help make the city more resistant to wild land fires. We have worked with a variety of other agencies along with our business community which is one of the main reasons we have been successful.
