Top 3 Priorities if Elected:
BALANCED BUDGET EVERY YEAR WITHOUT USING RESERVES OR THE SALE OF CITY OWNED PROPERTY
Proper monthly reporting of all City expenses and revenues by department through detailed profit and loss and general ledger statements. This would help to make sure all obligations to the City are paid and collected and not overlooked for any reason. All future City projects must have meaning for all residents not for a select few or they should not be funded. Continued monitoring of employee wages and pensions is essential.
ANY EXCESS FUNDS SHOULD BE USED TO IMPROVE THE NEIGHBORHOODS WHICH COULD INCLUDE ROADS, PARKS, AND PUBLIC SAFETY
Any money that is available after essential City expenses should be used for repair of neighborhood roads and the establishment of an "Adopt a Park" program or park projects.
IMPROVE COMMUNICATION WITH THE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY
A vast majority of the residents of Grover Beach who would attend council meetings no longer do so because they feel that they are not being listened to. By holding a monthly "Meet the Council" where residents could informally ask questions or make comments and have no time limit, would help foster a feeling of community.
